Terms and Conditions of Use for the Classifieds Service bs.com.fj

1. General Provisions

1.1. By submitting an advertisement, the user fully agrees to these Terms and Conditions and consents to the storage of their personal and contact information in the bs.com.fj classifieds service database in accordance with applicable laws.

1.2. The bs.com.fj service uses cookies stored on the user’s device. The service also uses third-party advertising (e.g. Google) and analytics systems that may generate cookies. Users may delete cookies at any time through their browser settings.

1.3. To prevent the illegal trade of excise and controlled goods, medicines, weapons, hazardous substances, and to ensure licensed services are not offered without valid authorization, the Service Administration may request identification documents and additional information. All such data is stored minimally and securely, with access restricted to authorized personnel only and access logs maintained.

 

2. Advertisement Content Rules

Advertisements are rejected or removed if they:

  • Violate laws, ethics, or contain incorrect or misleading information.
  • Do not match or partially match the selected category.
  • Lack clear product/service descriptions, important details, or contain misleading photos/text (e.g. car crash history not mentioned, incorrect furniture sets shown, property status not disclosed).
  • Include more than one product/service or are too general (e.g. “Various laptops”).
    • Exception: “Miscellaneous,” “Manufacturing,” and “Repair” subcategories (see Clause 5.4.1).
  • Offer unavailable goods/services (outside Fiji).
  • Contain contact info (e.g., phone/email/links) in unauthorized fields.
  • Show inaccurate or incomplete pricing (e.g. excluding taxes, hidden fees, or VAT).
  • Use poor-quality, misleading, or non-original photos (e.g. watermarked, stock images, collages, photos with text or logos).
  • Use ALL CAPS, excessive punctuation, meaningless characters, or irrelevant text in the title.
  • Contain marketing buzzwords in the title (e.g. "SALE", "Attention", "Best Offer").
  • Infringe on copyrights or trademarks.
  • Are written in languages other than Latvian, Russian, or English; or use transliteration.
  • Require full or partial prepayment for goods/services.
  • Are intended to collect user information.
  • Have multiple user complaints.
  • Offer licensed services without license numbers or contact details.
  • Offer work in video chats, erotic content, or sex services.
  • Involve pyramid schemes, network marketing, internet click-work, etc.
  • Promote cigarettes, alcohol, controlled drugs, or dangerous substances.
  • Contain repeated links to homepages or unrelated/low-quality websites.
  • Contain manipulative language, slogans, irrelevant keywords, exclamation marks or calls to action.
  • Have fake mileage, edited license plate photos, incorrect car year, or other deceptive data.
  • Are repeatedly posted with identical content or links.
  • Lead to spam, newsletters, or aggressive advertising.
  • Offer items with no market value or absurd content.

 

3. Advertisement Management

3.1. Ads cannot be edited after posting.

3.2. Ads violating any rules (Section 5) will be removed by administrators. A fee of 1.99 FJD per ad applies. Remaining publication time is refunded to the user’s bs.com.fj account. Repeated violations may result in access restrictions.

3.3. Each user, company, or group may register only one account.

3.4. Ads are published within one hour after payment. Publication duration is chosen by the user (from 1 day up to 8 weeks).

3.5. Ad pricing depends on category, value, duration, and payment method. All prices include 15% Fiji VAT. Ad publication is a service rendered in Fiji, so VAT applies even to non-residents.

 

4. Liability and Limitations

4.1. If the service is temporarily unavailable, ad durations will be extended accordingly. This does not apply to issues caused by external providers.

4.2. Users are fully responsible for the content of their ads, including any legal violations or harm to others.

4.3. The service provider, administrators, and owners of bs.com.fj are not liable for ad content, service availability, or damages unless otherwise stated.

4.4. If a business user violates the rules:

  • On first violation, the ad is deleted without refund and a warning is issued.
  • On repeated violation within a year, ad posting may be suspended for up to 1 year.
  • If the user tries to bypass the ban (e.g. by using another account), ads will be deleted and bs.com.fj is not responsible for resulting damages to third parties.

4.5. Business users do not have access to personal or aggregated user data submitted to the platform.

4.6. SIA Baltijas Meistari has access to personal data submitted by business users or consumers to use the classifieds platform. This data is not shared or published. See the Privacy Policy for details.

 

5. Changes to Terms and Conditions

5.1. These Terms may be amended, supplemented, or corrected and shall take effect upon publication on the website.

5.2. Business users will be notified 15 days in advance of any changes. These changes will take effect within 15 days of notice. If technical or commercial adjustments are needed, a longer implementation period may be indicated.

5.3. A business user has the right to terminate the contract within this 15-day period by informing bs.com.fj in writing. The termination will take effect within 15 days of notification.

5.4. The business user may waive the notice period by informing the administration through a written request or clear affirmative action.
